I graduated with honours in drawing and painting from the Ontario College of Art and Design in the spring of 2000. I’ve maintained an independent art practice since that time selling through galleries in the Toronto area and my first studio at The Women’s Art Association of Prince Arthur.
I was born in Nova Scotia and lived there until I travelled extensively in the eighties and settled in Toronto in 1987 to raise my son, James. For the past dozen years, I’ve called The Town of Blue Mountains home, and am now a resident artist and selling exclusively at Loft Gallery Inc. in Thornbury.
My artistic focus is to create contemporary landscapes. I feel the energy of nature comes to life through my use of rich vibrant colour, large format compositions with textural surfaces and three-dimensional surface effect. Constantly inspired by the Georgian Bay area, I like to convey the energy of nature, doing large compositions that create a three-dimensional feel, as if you could walk into the painting. My paintings are part of prestigious collections across Canada and internationally.
